The "strange" Italian Justice (about Meredith case)

The Country of Stefano Beccaria, these days, appears to people of English -language Countries very strange. All the world knows, thanks to films and telefilms on justice that a suspect can to leave the prison after a payment of a sum of money, and is free, while attends the process. In Italy a suspect can to be leaved in prison for many times, from State's attorney. That time can be very long, because, in my country Justice as too many problems. Now I prove to explain that strange thing, but is not very easy... The problems starts some years ago for the "kind" of process. State's attorney has big powers and if thinks that a suspect can be warning or can escapes he can to decide to rest him until the date of process. Ok, that thing is not very strange. The problems borns when in Italy, just for 20 years ago many immigrates from: North Africa; South-East; ex-Urss European Repubblics comes to Europe; in the same period in Italy -in the first '90's- starts "Mani pulite": hundreds of politic-men goes in prison for corruption: if You thinks that a big part of all these peoples must to rest in prison for many reasons you can understand how work must do the advocates, judges; if You add also: old buildings - in Perugia Justice's palace is in the old university (1.300!!) - ; financial problems comes from Welfare State (warranty of: medical cares, schools and, some years ago, also an home for everyone), voilà: the 'chaos' started. A (big) part of immigrates aren't regulars and a (little) part of them are criminals or starts to make the criminals. That thing starts a process in Italian justice (still not finished), very incredible. The punishments for little crimes are enlarging, the big number of persons in prisons increased... But the Italian culture about justice is warranty. Only some weeks ago, Italians presents to ONU a 'debate' versus the "Death penalty"; as saids Beccaria that thing is not good for a Society and a man soffers more in prison that if he goes to bigger penalty. Who write, is in full agreements with that law. The big numbers of process, adds to others process made the period to wait a process is months, years or many years, depends in which attorney the suspect is. Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy are in Perugia , and period is 'middle' in comparison to others cities, but too log if a person is innocent: an year...
I hope to talk about that bad story only all things will be clears: I think it's not good for no one talk about it more and more..
